Seen, Supported, Nourished & Connected

There has been a lot happening in the world over the past months, as 2026 hurtles by.

Many people carry real concerns about rising living costs, conflict, environmental challenges, and uncertainty about the future.

“Be the change we want to see” may sound like a cliché, yet at Heart & Soul of Wellness, we continue to hold the vision of a more connected and compassionate world. Not by ignoring the realities people are facing, but by recognising that the way we care for ourselves and one another truly matters.

Wellness means ‘state of being in good health’, but being well is not just about the absence of illness. One of the greatest challenges of modern life is that many people feel disconnected, small, separate and alone. In a world that can often feel lonely and overwhelming, creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, nourished, and connected to themselves and others is deeply important.

The healing modalities facilitated by our beautiful team of practitioners offer not just relief from pain and tension but also help people to reconnect, restore, and navigate life with greater presence, resilience, and wellness.

What’s happening this month

The month of May has brought an expanded calendar and new offerings, along with the pleasure of welcoming new practitioners and classes into our community. Under the loving guidance of Tania and Tamsin, our newly improved website now makes it easier for people to book online.

Monica will begin her yoga classes on June 1st, Steph’s Breathwork classes are now running on Monday evenings, and Natasha is facilitating another beautiful women’s circles on Wednesday nights.

The Citrine Room has had a little facelift and is now looking beautifully golden, true to its name, with a new yellow couch and cushions. And lo and behold, it has already started being used more. It is the perfect size for counselling sessions, readings, and one-on-one support.

Our Pregnancy Circle ebbs and flow as women move through pregnancy and birth, gathering together for a season before moving onwards to birth and early motherhood. As babies are born, new mamas-to-be arrive to take their place, and so the circle continues. It is always a little bittersweet saying goodbye, and then deeply joyful to see the women returning again with babes in arms.

Wednesdays continue to be a place where women gather at the well. The pregnant mamas come in the mornings for yoga, and later the new mamas arrive with their babies. Nurtured and held by Arielle and Renae, the Mamas and Bubs group is such a beautiful support for women, a place to share and feel held within a like-minded community. In a world where so many women feel isolated within the nuclear family model, these spaces where women can gather together feel more important than ever.

As part of the Wednesday village, Belinda continues to offer her monthly Community Chiropractic Clinic, supporting prenatal, postpartum, and baby.

Welcoming new practitioners

This month has seen four new practitioners join our Heart & Soul team: Sonia, Laura, Deborah and Christina.

We are thrilled to welcome Sonia Barton back, who will resume her Bowen sessions at Heart and Soul for young and old alike. Bowen therapy is a gentle, remedial bodywork technique that promotes the body's natural healing capacity. Bowen can be very effective during pregnancy, postpartum and any time! I love my sessions with Sonia. Her touch is divine. She also offers free sessions for babies.

Laura Williams is a holistic counsellor, Reiki master and intuitive therapist. I have enjoyed my chats with Laura in the kitchen, where many of the conversations take place at Heart and Soul.

We also warmly welcome Deborah William, a Reiki Master, medium, and energy healer, who will be seeing clients on Mondays.

See the Heart and Soul of Wellness practitioner page for an update on all of our beautiful practitioners and what they offer.

Birth Wellness Festival — this August

The Birth Wellness Festival will be held over the weekend of 8 and 9 August 2026.

Once again, the festival will be held at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds, this time at the end where the Farmers Market is held. The space gives us plenty of room to create the marketplace and village atmosphere that has become such an important part of the festival experience.

Our committee, the custodians of the festival is much the same as last year, which gives us a strong and grounded foundation from which to shape the programme and offerings for this year’s event.

Birth Wellness festival continues to be almost entirely volunteer-led, with people giving generously from the heart in support of the vision and the community we are creating together.

Watch this space, as there will be plenty of opportunities to be involved in the festival — beforehand, during the weekend itself, and afterwards as well.

You can get your Early Bird tickets here: https://www.birthwellnessfestival.com/tickets

Moving into winter, we wish for everybody love, warmth and peace of mind, body and soul.

We look forward to seeing you at Heart and Soul of Wellness.

Sali and the Heart and Soul team xx
